Carding

The final stage of preparing wool for many types of fiber art, whether done by hand or machine, is carding.  Carding aligns fibers so they can be converted into rovings, a form that many handspinners and felters like to use, bumps, which are a large roll of rovings, or batts, flat and wide, like you may find in a pillow.
