Mill Processing
Staples Wool Mill is a woman-owned rural venture, supporting small businesses, family farms, Livestock Conservancy producers, and fiber artists. We believe in eco-friendly, zero-waste processing, and pricing is based on tested operations efficiencies.
At this time, the mill uses Brother Drum Carder equipment, and is a Brother distributor. If for any reason we believe we can't process your fiber due to equipment limitations, we'll contact you.

Processing Options
We offer partial processing options for folks who like to do the fun fiber stuff, maybe not the dirty work!
Scour & Rinse only, $10/pound per run - one scour and three rinses.
Scour, Rinse, and Pick, $12.50/pound
Heavy skirting - you want the fleece, but it's kind of a mess and you don't want to deal with it!
$10/pound. This is not included in the submission fee.
Extras
Whether blending or not, if your fiber requires more than two runs through the picker in order to achieve uniform loft for carding, it is $2.50 per pound per run. This is often the case when blending two very different types of wool, or another fiber with wool.
If carding twice is not sufficient to produce a high quality roving or batt, additional runs are $7.50/pound, this is often the case with wools that have very different fiber traits, such as a fine wool and coarse longwool, or different fiber.
